Welcome to WatchAlong.me. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WatchAlong.me website, browser extension, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using WatchAlong.me — whether by visiting the website, creating a watch party room, joining a room, or installing and using the browser extension — you confirm that you:

• Are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher)
• Have read, understood, and agree to these Terms
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of the Service

WatchAlong.me provides a platform for synchronized online video watching. The Service includes:

• WatchAlong.me website: Enables synchronized watching of YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, HLS live streams, and direct video file URLs
• WatchAlong browser extension: Enables synchronized watching of content on Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Hotstar, Crunchyroll, and other supported streaming platforms
• Social features: Real-time text chat, video chat, collaborative drawing canvas, sticker reactions, and customizable chat themes

WatchAlong.me does not host, store, upload, or transcode video content. All video content accessed through the Service is streamed directly from third-party platforms and content delivery networks. WatchAlong.me is a coordination and synchronization tool only.

3. Use of the Service

3.1 Permitted Use

You may use WatchAlong.me to:

• Create and share watch party rooms for personal, non-commercial viewing
• Watch publicly available or subscription-based video content you have the right to access
• Communicate with others through the chat, video chat, and drawing features
• Use the browser extension to synchronize playback on supported streaming platforms, provided you hold an active subscription to those platforms

3.2 Prohibited Use

You may not use WatchAlong.me to:

• Stream, distribute, or share video content that you do not have the right to access or share
• Circumvent digital rights management (DRM) systems or access controls of streaming services
• Upload, share, post, or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
• Share or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — doing so will result in immediate reporting to law enforcement
• Spam, phish, or engage in any form of malicious communication through the chat system
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or its underlying infrastructure
• Use the Service in any way that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair it
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers on the Service without our express written consent
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or entity
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without our prior written consent
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation

4. Content and Copyright

4.1 User-Generated Content

The Service allows users to submit content through the chat, drawing canvas, and sticker reaction features ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:

• Represent that you own or have the rights to that content
• Grant WatchAlong.me a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display that content within the Service for the purpose of operating the platform
• Retain ownership of your User Content

4.2 Third-Party Video Content

WatchAlong.me facilitates access to video content hosted on third-party platforms. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party content. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that the content they access and share via the Service is done so lawfully and in accordance with the applicable platform's terms of service.

4.3 Copyright Infringement

We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe that content accessible through our Service infringes your copyright, please review our DMCA Policy and submit a notice to [email protected].

5. Intellectual Property

The WatchAlong.me name, logo, website design, interface, drawing canvas, chat theme designs, and all associated intellectual property are owned by WatchAlong.me and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any of our proprietary materials without express written permission.

6. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party platforms and services, including YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Netflix, Disney+, and others. WatchAlong.me is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party streaming platform unless explicitly stated.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
